Ian is a very experienced business leader. His approach to business is to combine creativity and entrepreneurialism with sound commercial judgement. His many years working in Marketing have resulted in an in-depth knowledge & understanding of many business sectors. His career has seen him work with the private and public sectors, political organisations, charities, start-ups and international businesses.
Ian combines his role at Family with being Managing Director of Tribe Global, a network of independent communications agencies, which gives him a unique global view of the communications industry.
He is particularly proud of the more than 150 awards won by Family since the agency was founded.
‘Giving something back’ is a really important part of Ian’s life. He has sat on the Edinburgh Board of Marie Curie, helped Survival International and Lepra, and taken part in fundraising cycles for Marie Curie and 500 Miles over the last couple of years.
When he’s not working, you’ll find him supporting Dundee United, watching Scotland play rugby or ski-ing in the Alps.
David has over 25 years experience in marketing, 15 of those years as Creative Director.
He’s worked in all kinds of agencies on all the media channels; from tv and posters, to press, DM, POS, digital and social.
David started his early career in London at Ted Bates, Y&R, Yellowhammer and Grey Integrated.
After London he moved to Scotland to and worked for Riley Advertising, started Yellow M Scotland and founded family.
Along the way, David has created over 150 award-winning creative and effectiveness campaigns for a variety of clients in all different sectors.
Probably his proudest achievement is having two of his posters voted in the Top 100 posters of all time.
However, what is most rewarding for David now is helping brands discover who they are - and helping them find a unique positioning.
After which he can use his extensive creative experience to create effective, memorable campaigns across all media platforms.
Out of work you’ll find David on the golf course (playing golf), playing football or badminton. Or just being a family man - his other family that is.
